Everything Is Awesome...in LEGOLAND!

To say our kids are huge fans of Lego, is an understatement! So, to actually get to go to Legoland is a thrill for them. This was our second visit, and was even more fun then the first time.

Just to keep cool, we decided to head straight to the Pirate Boat ride first off! It is not that fun though to walk around in wet clothes for a morning. As I was thinking, "oh, my goodness, I am so soaked!" Another LOAD of water dumped on me!

That is Chris actually wringing out his shirt! And, as Amyah put it,"She was soaked right down to her undies!" We spent a great day going on lots of fun rides and marvelling at the creators of Legoland's imagation and creativity!

If your kids are a fan of Lego, then don't miss Legoland if you are in the area!

San Diego

En route to San Diego, we stopped for a mountain view of Palm Springs, and then popped in to see a work contact of Chris's who gave us eggs from their chickens and tomates off all their tomato plants!

After a quiet week in Palm Springs, a house with its own backyard and pool we found our arrival at Mission Beach, San Diego a bit of a shocker! It is a hub of action here with loads of people! However, our condo's location was FANTASTIC!
This was the view! And here is the building, just behind these two super boogie boarders .
Having a beach, literally out the front door was great, besides handy. Even though we had a busy week, we did find time to hang out on Mission Beach.

It was also fun to ride bikes along the beach boardwalk. One destination was Belmont Park, with some fun rides, and HUMUNGOUS ice cream cones! :) What a great day by the ocean.

Belmont park is also home to the Giant Dipper, a wooden roller coaster. It was first built in 1925!! We found the ride a bit rough as there was no smooth glider style rails and comfy cars like the newer coasters. :)

Mission Beach is a peninsula, so if we walked the other way, through lovely back lanes, we would arrive at a bay.

It was a fun and busy week. We bought "GO SAN DIEGO" cards through Costco on line and saved a lot!. Most definitely, we will use a GO card when we travel again to a large centre with lots of museums, theme park, and activities.

Mega Road Trip

Just over 3200KM has brought us to Palm Springs, California! It was uneventful but fun. First stop was just over the boarder, south of Creston, at a U.S. post office!
Then it was back on the road. We traveled down through Idaho, over through Montana, and stayed in Dillion, M.T..
While traveling the full length of Utah, or what it seems, we stopped by to check out some ancient lava fields. Very cool! The temps were also starting to soar up to plus 45 degrees Celsius!!!!!
There was a stop in Salt Lake City, Utah, to see where the Tabernacle Choir rehearses. What a concert hall with exquisite acoustics!
Our second night on the road, was spent just south of Salt Lake City, in Nephi! It was the 4th of July and accommodations were slim pic-kin's! However, we did find a bed and the next morning kicked off the day with breakfast at Denny's! On this leg of the journey we skirted Arizona, before hitting the many lanes in to Las Vegas!
We stayed in Las Vegas for a couple days to relax by the pool for one day, and then in the evening checked out the fountains and fires. A whole day was spent at Circus, Circus Adventuredome too. I even gave  the newest roller coaster a whirl! However, for the record I did not enjoy it! I could only hear myself screaming! I lost count how many times Amyah and Chris went on the roller coasters though. :) Max was a fan of the Thunder Birds - a ride of airplanes.
Chris & Amyah off on the roller coaster for about the 5th time!
4D movie at Circus Circus
We also ate for the first time at a Rainforest Cafe, Amyah got in some violin practicing, and there were many pretty sites to see in the Bellagio, which was next door to our hotel, the Vdara.
and a bit of goofiness with Wicky Sticks that that kids got from the Luxe Cafe! :)
Wicked Spoon, a trendy buffet in the Cosmopolitan was also on our list of "to do's"! However, as it usually goes with our trips, some one had to get sick and this time it was poor Max. He did want until we had paid, sat down and had gotten our food. BUT, before we took a bite, he got sick all over the front of Chris! Poor Chris! We were reimbursed, thankfully, and the Wicked Spoon is still on the "to do list". :)
Pirate Max
Now, at our destination, we are sticking close to the pool, and A/C. Palm Springs is a great place with tons of shopping, great kids' programs at the local library, Creative Child Museum, and a movie theater down the street!
And, there is Wet N' Wild water park, Rubies for a float, and then, there is always time for picking dead geckos out of the pool!

We also celebrated 10 year of marriage while in Palm Springs. The kids helped us celebrate with a dinner out to P.F. Changs. :)
